Start with 2 pounds of lean ground beef, port or turkey, with 1 beaten egg smooshed in for each 1 1/2 to 2 lbs of meat. Then mix in some fun!

Basil Burgers: ¼ cup each of fresh snipped basil, diced red onion and chopped fresh mushrooms. Add some minced garlic too! Serve with cheese of choice and avocado slices.
Southwest style: 1 small can of chopped green chilies, minced onion, and chopped sun dried tomatoes. Top hot burgers with Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese.
Italian grill: ¼ cup prepared pesto, minced onion, chopped sun dried tomatoes, 1 clove crushed garlic, Italian seasoning, with shredded Italian cheese blend mixed into the burger or Mozzarella to top the burger.
Mexi-mix:1 cup of your favorite salsa, ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro, top with Monterey Jack, cheddar or pepper jack cheese to serve.
Greek Burgers: 4 oz. crumbled feta cheese, ¼ cup minced red onion, 1 tsp. dried oregano, 1 tsp. lemon juice, garnish with [* see below] fresh cucumber sauce.
Terri’s Burger Blend: 50/50 blend of ground beef and lean ground pork, 2 Tblsp. Worcestershire sauce and ¼ - ½ cup minced onion. Don’t forget the cheese!
Add seasonings like: salt, pepper, smoked paprika or chipotle chili powder, Monterey steak seasoning, or any of your favorite flavors.
Mix all ingredients, form patties. Grill!
Offer a variety of cheeses and toppings…have fun!
Serve on sturdy toasted buns that will stand up to fresh tomato and onion slices, or grilled onions and mushrooms, guacamole, aioli and all your best toppings!
*Fresh Cucumber Sauce
3/4 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
1 tsp. dried dill
1/2 cup grated cucumber
1 Tblsp. lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients; chill.
