Help for the Homeless
The Family's "Help for the Homeless" Hygiene Drive
$1.7 Million worth of supplies donated to local crisis programs since 2008
2016 Dates = Feb. 21 - March 13
"A mother and son moved into an apartment after being homeless for three weeks. All of their finances were needed for rent. With nothing except a little bit of clothing, they were very grateful to receive the hygiene supplies. Mom said 'Now my bathroom looks like a bathroom; I didn't know how I was going to get everything we needed. This helps so much!' She was stunned that the community had donated just what she needed and she can't wait to be in a position to donate supplies to others in need." -Heather Kangas, Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate, CAP Services More stories
The Family’s ‘Help for the Homeless’ hygiene drive works with area homeless coalitions to stock the shelves of 79 homeless and crisis programs in 13 Wisconsin communities in our listening areas. The goal of Help for the Homeless is to supply a year’s worth of product to each agency (In many cases, this is happening!). Donations remain in the communities where they are collected.
